Audi TT Grill Restore

Front end of the Audi TT

Today, I worked on restoring the faded out black plastic on the front end of the Audi TT (as pictured above). I was browsing a new Auto Zone that just opened in my neighborhood, and i came across a can of Meguiare’s Ultimate Black and thought to give it a shot.  Read the can and it said that you might want to mask it off before spraying. Please mask it off! the stuff is real sticky and you need rubbing rubbing alcohol to remove it if it dries on the paint or chrome. I masked it off and went to town. Sprayed it on as if you where painting it, 2-3 strokes, don’t soak it, but treating like paint and not letting it run.

The spray comes out clear and sprays like fine paint mist. Don’t overspray it could get everywhere and make sure it is well ventilated. It takes about 15 mins to dry to the touch. It will look as if it were wet or shiny after it dries; it came out well. The hardest part is masking, I did the lower black parts too. Overall, I was satisfied with the results.
